Welcome to Sustainable Orange County! We're excited to provide Orange County residents and businesses with:- • A resource to find and act on incentives to improve energy efficiency, drive cleaner vehicles, reduce energy demand, and utilize green energy.
There are a variety of incentives such as Federal tax credits, New York State programs from organizations like NYSERDA, and utility programs that will be
maintained and updated. You can ask questions and learn via webinars. Check out the "Save Money" tab.
- • Information on completed County projects that will help the environment and reduce our energy expenses. Orange County has been active in utilizing
clean energy grants and incentives to save taxpayers money. Learn about these efforts in the "What's New" tab.
- • Access to green energy and carbon offsets from Sterling Planet and your utility company. You will also be able to find green product and service
vendors that serve Orange County.
- • Tips to improve the energy efficiency of homes and businesses.
- • Information and links to programs such as Weatherization Assistance and the Home Energy Assistance Plan for income- eligible residents.
Federal Stimulus funds were utilized to set-up and launch this program, and a private contractor will maintain the website and find ongoing funding sources.
